Bombers Ported Barrel - Eggbutt

 

 

The Eggbutt cheekpiece prevents pinching of the lips and give a slightly more solid feel against the side of the face. It also prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower and also introduces some poll pressure

The Ported Barrel was created to relieve pressure on the tongue via the the medium port, which creates space for the tongue. The Barrel joint relieves pressure on the bars by spreading it over a larger area and limiting the nut cracker action of a conventional snaffle.

 

Sweet Iron bit in 14mm thickness.

Best suited for: Horse that travels behind the vertical and may also demonstrate signs of tongue pressure. Great for turning as has independent side movement

NOTE:  This style should sit snug on the horse, so the port does not move sideways. over the tongue and bars of the horses mouth. Please add 5mm in width for the loose ring version compared to the eggbutt which should sit snug.

Bombers bits are famous for their striking and beautiful deep blue colour across the mouth piece. This is commonly believed to be an artificial coating; however, it’s the result of heat-treating sweet iron and is meant to gradually fade over time, with no effect on a bit’s performance.  

 

	SOFT METAL - 5 YEAR GUARANTEE Mouthpieces that incorporate a brass component must be checked before use. Brass is a soft metal and will wear over time. OUR BITS SHOULD BE WASHED AND WIPED AFTER USE. IF IT HAS BEEN OUT OF USE FOR SOME TIME, YOU MAY REQUIRE A KITCHEN SCOURER.
	OXIDISATION Please note due to oxidisation the blue will fade with use.
