The Sportz-Vibe ZX is a wireless massage rug designed for horses, offering both pre-ride warm-up and post-exercise recovery benefits. It uses vibrating panels that can be strategically placed on the horse's body to target specific muscle groups.

HOW IT WORKS

Massage therapy is one of the oldest known methods of therapy and is renowned for its ability to promote healing. Massage can help to reduce stiffness and soreness and support blood supply to muscles.

Sportz-Vibe’s massage action is gentle enough that it won’t over work your horse’s muscles but will help to reduce muscle tension. The massage panels are removable which allow you to target specific areas.

So how does it work?

One of the best things about Sportz-Vibe is that the rug and its accessories arrive neatly tucked into a handy backpack (which you might have spotted hanging in Michael Jung’s tack room at various events around the world!)

The rug is extremely easy to use, and the four massage panels that come with it can be positioned on the rug and detachable neck cover to target four key areas on both sides of your horse’s body: neck, shoulders, back (saddle area), and hindquarters/sacroiliac area.

The panels work their massage magic thanks to the small cordless battery controller which is re-chargeable (and fully charges in 5 hours) with the included USB cord and wall plug. Once the battery controller is attached to the panels, it zips neatly into a little pocket on the blanket and stays safely out of the way during the massage session. Read the user manual before using and always remember Red goes on the Right when attaching the cables between the battery and the panels!

Pressing the power button on the battery until you see a green light will activate the first setting, which is the more gentle setting and your go-to for introducing your horse to the rug and for very sensitive horses for use before and after work to loosen their muscles and get them feeling good, as well as to target key areas that might be healing from an injury. Clicking the power button down again until you see a red light activates the second setting, which is more intense and works deeper into the muscles to help reduce tension. This is often the setting you will move onto once you are using the rug on a regular basis.

An added bonus for mare owners is using the rug when your mare is in heat. Mares can get quite tight and sensitive in their back and hindquarters when cycling, and a quick 20-minute massage session before work can make a noticeable difference in their comfort level.

The rug is really lightweight and breathable and also looks sharp. It can easily do double duty at shows as a light sheet to keep your horse clean while also being at the ready for massage treatments. Sportz-Vibe is machine washable (after removing the panels, and battery) and easy to keep clean.
